Target Species:
The expedition will take you to the remote volcanic islands of Witu. They are a group of active volcanic islands which are 100 nautical miles from Kimbe. During this expedition you have the opportunity to catch a variety of blue water species including, Dogtooth Tuna up to 100kg, Giant Trevally, Coral Trout, Wahoo, Mackerel, Marlin, Sailfish, Ruby Snapper, and more.
For those looking to tick a Papuan Black Bass off their bucket list, these areas are also home to some of the biggest Black Bass and Spottail Bass on the planet and can be added to the expedition. Spottails can only be found in this region of PNG on New Britain Island.
Boats & Equipment:
The Ultimate One mothership is a luxury vessel that has long range capabilities and is equipped with all the electronics needed for offshore expeditions. It has a cruising speed of 25 knots and is geared up with a game chair and outriggers for those who wish to target big blue marlin and sailfish.
All fishing equipment is provided and additional lures are available for purchase.
The mothership can tow up to 4 x 7.6m Sportfishing tenders. The tenders are extremely comfortable, spacious and versatile, and can run inshore to the rivers or stay offshore in the blue water.
Mothership:
The Ultimate One is a 72 ft custom built vessel that accommodates 6 anglers in 3 rooms with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning. The vessel allows you to explore new reefs, rivers and atolls in the Bismarck Archipelago including, Tench Island, Kavieng, Witu Islands, Kove, Bainings and Rabaul. The fully staffed crew will make your stay comfortable with daily laundry services and housekeeping.
Food & Drinks:
Three chef-prepared meals are provided for guests every day. Meals consists of delicious western, local & chinese cuisine.
Non-alcoholic beverages are included, as well as snacks on board and dinner upon arrival in Papua New Guinea.

The mothership departs from the town of Kimbe – Kimbe is the capital of the province of West New Britain in Papua New Guinea, and the largest settlement on the island. The town is the third largest port in Papua New Guinea.
How to get there:
Kimbe (Hoskins Airport) is only a day travel from Brisbane, Cairns, Sydney, Hong Kong or Singapore. The majority of flights are via Jacksons International Aiport in Port Moresby and daily flights from Southeast Asia, Australia and the South Pacific are available.
Documents Required:
Valid passport is required. Citizens of the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and other Western European nations are eligible for a tourist visa on arrival.
Travel Arrangements:
We take care of all flights, transfers and hotels to and from the lodge and will be included in the final quote.
Guests have the option of booking their own flights as well.
Sample Itinerary
Trip Duration: 8-10 days
7 Nights, 6 Full Days Fishing
Day 1:
Arrive at Port Moresby International Airport (POM) and catch a 1-hour domestic flight to Kimbe, Hoskins Airport (HKN).
Arrive at Hoskins Airport where our representative will be waiting your arrival. The rep will take you to Liamo Reef Resort to refresh, enjoy a group dinner and then board the mothership for an overnight voyage to the destination.
Day 2 – 6:
Five full-days guided fishing from the mothership and tenders on the islands, coral reefs, blue water and in the river systems.
Day 7:
Full day fishing – Afternoon departure from fishing location to Kimbe Bay.
Stay on board the mothership for the night and arrive in Kimbe Bay early morning the next day.
Day 8:
Transfer to Hoskins Airport.
Flight departing Kimbe to Port Moresby, before departing PNG.
