Known as the “River Tiger,” Golden Dorado are often compared to Tarpon in the way they jump after being hooked. These fish are the apex predators in this area and can grow up to an incredible 60 pounds. With their explosive takes, powerful fighting ability, and flashes of golden beauty, the Dorado is the definition of a dream fish. Aside from dorado, you also get the chance to target other species like Pacu, Pira Pita, Wolffish and Surubi. The surubi, also known as the Painted Catfish, is one of the most beautiful fish in the world and adds to the bucket list experience in this region.
The Corriente and Paraná rivers are pristine environments for fishing. Without much boat traffic the rivers are quiet and clean and are thriving ecosystems with a rich variety of flora and fauna. The Paraná river is the second longest river in South America, while the Corriente river flows from the Ibera Wetlands, the second largest wetland area on the planet, to form a delta that is home to some of the most incredible dorado fishing on the continent. This area comprises numerous crystal-clear lagoons, rivers and tributaries.
Anglers fish from new flats skiffs. Each boat has a casting deck on the bow and transom allowing for 2 anglers to fish at the same time.
All equipment and gear is provided and guests have access to a tackle shop that is fully equipped with rods, reels, lines and apparel should you want to take tackle home.
Tackle used is medium spinning / baitcasting gear and/or 6 – 8-weight fly rods with floating and sinking lines.
Lures include a variety of jerkbaits, crankbaits, topwaters and poppers. Flies are mainly streamers and poppers.
