Frequently Asked Questions:

What makes the Tomo and Gavilan Rivers so special for peacock bass fishing?

These rivers offer an unmatched trophy peacock bass environment. With expansive sandbanks, lagoons, oxbow channels, and floodplains, they host three peacock bass species—including the colossal Temensis, which can exceed 20 pounds—as well as schools of fast-hitting Butterfly and Royal peacocks.

Akuani features five compact, floating cabins that accommodate two guests each. Each unit includes two single beds, electricity, fans (no air-conditioning), mosquito nets, private bathroom with flush toilet and cold shower, plus storage space.

Your package covers three hearty meals each day (chef-prepared), unlimited snacks, soft drinks, and beer. Meals are served riverside under a dining tent or beach canopy. Lunch is typically enjoyed on the riverbank between fishing sessions. Satellite phones and basic first aid are available, plus Starlink internet.

The fishing season runs during Colombia’s dry spell—typically from December through early April, January to March for optimal conditions and lower water levels. Transportation begins with arrival in Medellín or Bogotá, followed by a short charter flight to La Primavera, a 3–4-hour 4×4 transfer to the river, and a final 15–20-minute boat ride to camp.
