Booking, Payment, Cancellation, Weather, and Force Majeure Terms

Deposit and Booking Confirmation

A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking with Bucket List Fishing Trips. Your booking is only confirmed once availability has been confirmed in writing and the required deposit has been received. The 50% deposit is non-refundable unless a suitable client replacement is found and approved by Bucket List Fishing Trips and any relevant lodge, guide, vessel, outfitter, or supplier.

Final Payment

The remaining balance is due no later than 90 days before the trip start date, unless otherwise stated in writing. Bookings made within 90 days of departure may require full payment at the time of booking. Failure to make final payment by the due date may result in cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of amounts already paid.

Cancellations by the Client

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. If a client cancels more than 90 days before the trip start date, the 50% deposit remains non-refundable unless a suitable replacement client is found and approved. Cancellations made by the client within 90 days of the trip start date are non-refundable. No refunds will be issued for payments made where a client cancels within this 90-day period. No refund will be provided where a client chooses to cancel their booking and the trip is able to operate as scheduled. This includes situations where the lodge, guide, vessel, outfitter, supplier, destination partner, or Bucket List Fishing Trips is ready and able to provide the booked services. If a suitable replacement client is found, Bucket List Fishing Trips will make reasonable efforts to transfer the booking, subject to supplier approval, availability, administrative requirements, and any additional costs. Replacement transfers are not guaranteed.

Group Bookings and Replacement Guests

Where a booking is made as part of a private group, the group is responsible for finding a suitable replacement if one of the guests cancels their spot. Bucket List Fishing Trips may assist with the transfer process where possible, but it is not responsible for sourcing replacement guests for group bookings. Any replacement guest must be approved by Bucket List Fishing Trips and any relevant lodge, guide, vessel, outfitter, supplier, or destination partner. If no suitable replacement is found and approved, the cancelling guest and/or group remains responsible for the cancelled spot, including any non-refundable deposit, final payment, single supplement, private guide cost, private boat cost, transfer cost, or other additional charges caused by the cancellation.

Travel Insurance

We highly recommend that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance immediately after booking. Travel insurance should include, where available, trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical expenses, emergency evacuation, travel delays, baggage, fishing equipment, and weather-related disruption. We strongly recommend Cancel For Any Reason insurance, also known as CFAR insurance, where available. Clients are responsible for choosing insurance that is suitable for their trip, destination, health, travel arrangements, and personal circumstances.

Weather, Hurricanes, and Lost Fishing Time

Fishing trips are weather-dependent and may be affected by conditions outside the control of Bucket List Fishing Trips, including wind, storms, hurricanes, unsafe water conditions, high water, low water, poor visibility, and other inclement weather. No refunds will be issued for cancellations, interruptions, delays, unused arrangements, missed activities, or fishing time lost as a result of weather conditions, including hurricanes or other severe weather events. Guides, captains, outfitters, lodges, and local operators have final authority to determine whether conditions are safe for fishing, boating, transfers, or related activities. Clients should rely on comprehensive travel insurance, including CFAR insurance where available, for weather-related cancellations, interruptions, or losses.

Cancellations by Bucket List Fishing Trips

In the unlikely event that Bucket List Fishing Trips is required to cancel your trip for reasons within our control, a full refund of all payments made to Bucket List Fishing Trips for the affected trip will be provided. This includes circumstances such as operational issues, guide or vessel unavailability, permitting or licensing issues, or other business-related factors within our reasonable control. Bucket List Fishing Trips is not responsible for additional costs incurred by clients, including but not limited to flights, hotels, visas, travel insurance, vaccinations, equipment, clothing, lost wages, or other personal expenses.

Force Majeure and Circumstances Outside Our Control

Bucket List Fishing Trips is not responsible for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control. These circumstances include, but are not limited to, severe weather, hurricanes, natural disasters, pandemics, epidemics, border closures, war, civil unrest, terrorism, strikes, transport disruption, government restrictions, supplier failure, fire, flood, conservation closures, park closures, fishing closures, political events, travel restrictions, or other emergency events. Where a trip is cancelled, delayed, interrupted, or changed due to circumstances outside the control of Bucket List Fishing Trips, refunds are not guaranteed. Any refund, credit, date change, or alternative arrangement will depend on what is available from the relevant lodge, guide, vessel, outfitter, supplier, or destination partner. Clients should rely on comprehensive travel insurance, including CFAR insurance where available, for losses caused by force majeure events or circumstances outside the control of Bucket List Fishing Trips.
