The prime season runs from June to the end of August, when water levels and temperatures create ideal feeding conditions for these powerful fish. The rapids, typically 25 to 40 meters wide and less than a kilometer long, are easily navigable, allowing for effective wading. Experienced guides ensure that anglers are positioned in the most productive spots, utilizing techniques such as dry fly fishing, nymphing, and streamer fishing to entice trophy-sized trout.

Travelers arriving in Jyväskylä can reach the lodge in under an hour by rental car or pre-arranged transfer, making for an easy and scenic journey through Finland’s tranquil countryside.

7-Night, 6-Day Itinerary – Troutland, Finland
Day 1: Arrival & Lodge Check-In
Arrive at Jyväskylä Airport (JYV) and transfer to Kellankoski Lodge (approx. 1-hour drive).
Check-in, meet the guides, and set up fishing gear.
Welcome dinner at Ahoniemi restaurant, trip briefing with guides.
Day 2-7: Fly Fishing in Troutland
Morning – Breakfast at the lodge, followed by guided fly fishing on Troutland’s rivers and rapids.
Afternoon – Continue fishing, with the option for a shore lunch or packed meal by the water.
Evening – Return to the lodge for a sauna, dinner featuring fresh local ingredients, and time to relax or prepare for the next day. Option for evening fishing on select nights.
Day 8: Departure
Morning – Breakfast and check-out.
Transfer to Jyväskylä Airport for departure.
